Colors and Shapes Project
Short
Colors and forms are all that matters here. They move through the visual space, meeting, drifting apart, changing shape, in a constant, unhurried transformation.
In a world where images almost always want to say something, this series takes a different path. There is no message to decode, no hidden meaning to uncover. What matters is the experience of looking itself. You don’t need to know anything before you begin, nor do you need the right words for what you see. All you need is time, time to stay with what is happening in front of you, to follow the colors, feel the light, and let the forms move at their own pace.
Since its inception, photography has been considered a medium for faithfully recording reality. However, its history is also marked by artists who subverted its purely documentary nature: pioneers like Man Ray and László Moholy-Nagy demonstrated that the photographic medium could transcend the simple reproduction of the real to delve into abstraction, dreams, and visual experimentation.
The image born from the dialogue between the author and artificial intelligence inherits this legacy and projects it into the present. This is not a fully automated generative process, but rather a deep interaction in which human contribution remains the true engine of the artwork. AI does not create autonomously: it is the author who guides the medium, defines its conceptual direction, steers the algorithm’s responses, and engages in rigorous selection and visual re-elaboration. In this context, technology becomes an extension of the artist’s mind—an advanced tool for shaping complex visions that transcend the physical constraints of traditional photography, without ever departing from the sensibility and expressive intent of the person conceiving them.
These works raise compelling new aesthetic questions, prompting us to redefine the concepts of originality and artistic authorship. The creative act lies not merely in technical execution or manual gesture, but in the author’s ability to direct computational power, transforming the technological process into an artwork that is the inseparable outcome of their visual and conceptual vision.
