My work sits at the crossing point of visual art and sound, photography, video, and experimental music all feeding into each other. The sound side comes from the same place as the visual work: I’m interested in how perception and technology turn ordinary details into something abstract, almost atmospheric.
I started out writing music for my own short films, work that went on to win awards and get selected at international festivals and open calls, before branching into standalone releases. Three electronic and ambient albums followed, each one written, sound-designed, and produced entirely on my own.
The music draws on American minimalism, the Berlin School, and the more contemporary electronic and industrial scene. I like building dense, intricate textures: hypnotic sequences that unfold slowly, patterns that repeat and shift in small increments, rhythms that mutate almost imperceptibly. There’s a rough edge to a lot of it too, abrasive timbres, space used almost like an instrument in its own right.
In the end it’s really an extension of the visual work: soundscapes that build up and wear away, where silence isn’t just the absence of sound but something I compose with, deliberately.
