Filaments project
This one started from a single shape, and I let it branch out the way neurons do — filaments spreading and forking until the whole frame reads like a nervous system caught mid-thought. The same impulses that move through the image become the notes and rhythms in the sound, so image and sound are really tracing the same signal, just in two different registers.
What kept pulling me back to this was the resemblance between something as small as a synapse and something as vast as the structure of the universe — the same branching pattern, whether you’re looking at a brain or a galaxy. That’s the idea underneath all of it: thought, perception, the things that connect us to each other, all running on the same invisible wiring, just at wildly different scales.
I wanted the piece to slow people down rather than explain itself. Look closely enough at one small detail and it stops being small — it opens into something that feels like its own universe.
