Triptych
This one’s part of the same ‘Colors and Shapes’ project as most of what’s on this site, more of it at www.giorgiogerardi.com/video/ and www.giorgiogerardi.com/colors-and-shapes/.
It’s built as a triptych, three panels running side by side, each evolving on its own but staying in conversation with the other two through composition, rhythm, colour. Inside each panel, abstract forms move like smoke or coloured liquid: expanding, overlapping, folding into each other. Warm reds, oranges and deep yellows keep colliding with cooler blues, violets and magentas, and none of it ever quite settles.
I’m less interested in the shapes themselves than in how they get there. Nothing here is symmetrical or fixed, lines twist, wrap around themselves, generate their own layers and depth as they go. It’s unstable in a way that still feels harmonious, if that makes sense. The point was never to represent anything. It’s closer to watching form being born and dissolving in real time than to looking at a finished image.
That idea, things always mid-change, never arriving anywhere fixed, runs through other work of mine too, especially the Clouds series. Space, in these pieces, isn’t a container for things to sit in. It’s more like a field where forces keep shifting.
The video was made with the help of AI. It’s 2 minutes and 5 seconds long, built to loop, no closing credits, the last frame matches the first, and the soundtrack, which I composed, loops back on itself the same way.
